This volume summarizes the FABRIC process, from the site walk-through, in January 2017, to initial test uses in spring 2017, wish production in 2018, plus glimpses into the summer of the 2020 pandemic.

Die in diesem Band gesammelten Materialien geben ihnen einen umfassenden Einblick in die Ergebnisse der Wunschproduktion für das FABRIC Gelände am Bahnhof Lörrach-Brombach. Aus einem 1.600 Beiträge starken Wunscharchiv haben wir das hier vorliegende Konvolut aus Auswertungen und Übersetzungen zusammengestellt – vor allem jedoch eine aussagekräftige Auswahl von Originalbeiträgen. Unter den selben Stichworten sortiert wie die Auslobung, haben Sie, die Architekt*innen, direkten Zugriff auf das Material, aus dem sich die Planungsaufgabe ableitet. Die Kapiteltitel verweisen auf die entsprechenden Punkte im Auslobungstext.
The materials collected in this volume give you a comprehensive insight into the results of the wish production for the FABRIC site at the Lörrach-Brombach train station. From a 1,600-strong archive of desires, we have compiled the present volume of evaluations and translations – above all, however, an informative selection of original contributions. Sorted under the same key words as the briefing, you, the architects, have direct access to the material from which the planning task is derived. The chapter titles refer to the corresponding points in the competition text.
FABRIC will das lokale Wissen zur Basis der Planung machen und mit den Ideen und der Arbeit der Stiftung verweben. Dieses Material will ein tieferes inhaltliches Verständnis der Wünsche und Anforderungen aus Lörrach vermitteln – und die Imagination anfeuern.
FABRIC wants to make local knowledge the basis of planning and interweave it with the ideas and work of the Schöpflin Foundation. This material aims to provide a deeper understanding of the content of the wishes and requirements from Lörrach – and to fire the imagination.
